A block-building sandbox with the survival pressure removed entirely. There are no hostile creatures, no hunger and no night-time threat; there is an open world, a wide palette of materials, and whatever you decide to build with them. That sounds like a reduction and for a lot of players it is the point — the interesting part of this genre has always been the building, and everything else is friction. What it provides instead is space and time. The world is large enough to find a site worth building on, the interiors can be decorated in detail rather than functionally, and nothing interrupts a long project. It makes a reasonable first game of this kind for a younger player, since the learning is entirely additive, and a reasonable relaxed one for anybody who has done the survival version enough times to be bored of it.

How to play Crafting and Building
- Choose a site before starting; a flat area saves an hour of terrain work.
- Block out the shape roughly first and detail it afterwards.
- Use the palette rather than one material — contrast is what makes a build read.
- Build interiors as you go, since adding them to a finished shell is harder.
- Fly to inspect your own work from outside; most mistakes are only visible from a distance.
Tips
- Odd-numbered dimensions look better than even ones because they have a centre.
- Depth matters more than colour: a wall with recesses reads better than a flat wall in a nicer material.
- Save an area untouched nearby, so there is somewhere to expand without demolishing.
