A real-time strategy game stripped to its essentials and played on a map of territories. You begin with one small holding, send troops into adjacent ground to take it, and build cities and ports that increase what you can send next — which means growth compounds, and so does the length of border you have to defend. That tension is the whole game. Every conquest makes you stronger and more exposed, and because it runs in real time against other players, the moment you overextend is the moment somebody notices. The good players expand along defensible lines rather than grabbing the most ground, and the endgame is usually decided by whoever spent their production on the right side of the map. It is much simpler than a conventional strategy game and considerably more decisive, which suits a session measured in minutes.

How to play FrontWars IO
- Expand along a short border rather than grabbing the most ground available.
- Build where production is protected, not where it is closest to the front.
- Send enough troops to hold a territory, not just to take it.
- Watch your neighbours' borders; a quiet neighbour is usually building.
- Consolidate after a conquest rather than pushing straight on.
Tips
- A long border is the most common cause of collapse, regardless of total territory.
- Ports and cities pay back over time, so build them early rather than when you need them.
- Attacking a player who is fighting somebody else is worth more than attacking a strong one.
