Mad Pursuit

A chase game rather than a race. There is no finish line and no rival to beat; there are police cars behind you, a wet neon city to drive through, and a timer that only stops when they catch you. The goal is survival, which changes how the driving works — the fastest line is frequently the wrong one, because it leads somewhere with no exit. The handling is arcade-loose and built for drifting, which is the right choice for a game about corners taken badly on purpose. Sliding around a junction costs speed but buys you an angle the pursuers cannot match, and the whole skill of the game is knowing when that trade is worth making. Traffic is an obstacle for both sides, which means it can be used: cutting close past a van has stopped more pursuits than outright speed ever will. The city is large enough that routes matter and readable enough to navigate at speed, and the rain effects are mostly there to look good, which they do. Runs last a few minutes, the restart is immediate, and the escalation comes from more and faster pursuers rather than from taking your control away.
