A multiplayer game where income and theft are the same system. You build a base, buy things that generate money over time, and can walk into anybody else's base and carry their generators away — which means every player in the server is simultaneously an investor and a target. The interesting tension is the split of attention. Time spent raiding is time your own base is undefended, and the players who do best are not the most aggressive but the ones who time raids for when they have least to lose. Defences can be bought, and they buy time rather than safety — which keeps the pressure on rather than letting anybody settle. A base left alone for long enough always gets visited. Sessions are open-ended, progress persists within a server, and the arrival of a stronger player changes the whole lobby's behaviour. It needs a keyboard and mouse to move comfortably, runs on modest hardware, and fills with real players. Chaotic in the way that a game where everybody can take everybody else's things has to be, and better designed than the premise suggests.

How to play StealNow IO

  1. Buy income before defences; an undefended base that earns beats a defended one that does not.
  2. Raid when you have least at home to lose.
  3. Carry stolen generators straight back rather than chaining raids.
  4. Buy defences to slow raiders, not to stop them — nothing stops them.
  5. Watch who is accumulating; the strongest player sets the lobby's behaviour.

Tips

  • Time spent raiding is time your own base is open, which is the central trade.
  • Defences buy time, never safety.
  • Any base left alone long enough will be visited.
