A race where crossing the line is optional and arriving with a car is not. The tracks are laid with things designed to end runs: pendulums that sweep the width of the road, walls that close, barrels that go up when touched, gaps narrow enough to punish a bad line. The rival cars are the last hazard, and the least predictable, because they will happily use you as the thing that absorbs the next obstacle.

How to play Survival Race
- Read the hazard before entering it. Most traps have a rhythm, and the gap is usually wider than it looks from a distance.
- Lift off rather than braking hard. A car that is settled survives a glancing hit; a car that is braking gets spun by it.
- Keep clear of rivals near obstacles. They will not avoid you, and a shove into a pendulum ends a run instantly.
- Protect the front of the car. Damage accumulates and a wrecked nose changes how the vehicle steers for the rest of the run.
- Take the wider line through a trap when you are ahead and the tighter one only when you are behind.
Tips
- Speed into a hazard is usually wrong. The gap opens on a timer, not on your arrival.
- Parts flying off is information. It tells you the car is one heavy hit from ending the run.
- The last section of each track is where most runs die, so save the boost for it rather than the opening straight.
Questions about Survival Race
Does damage actually matter?
Yes. Pieces come away and handling degrades, so a battered car is genuinely harder to drive than a fresh one.
Am I racing the clock or the rivals?
Both. The clock sets the pressure and the rivals make the hazards worse.
Can I finish a track by driving carefully?
Sometimes, but slow driving leaves you inside traps when they close. Timing beats caution here.
Is there a restart?
An instant one, which is just as well given how many runs end suddenly.
