A turn-based artillery duel in the long tradition of the format. You set an angle and a power, the shell arcs over the terrain between you, and then your opponent does the same — and because the weapons do substantial damage, a duel is usually decided in two or three accurate shots rather than ground out. What raises it above a guessing game is that everything is deterministic. The same angle and power produce the same arc every time, so a miss is a precise measurement — too short by a visible amount — and the second shot is a calculation rather than another guess. Terrain deforms as you fire, which means the cover between you changes during a duel and a position that was safe becomes exposed. Weapons differ in arc and area, which gives the selection before a shot real weight: a high-arc shell clears an obstacle a flat one cannot. There is a ladder of opponents, unlockable tanks, and a two-player mode on one device. It plays with a drag on a phone, runs on anything, and is an extremely clean example of a genre that has barely needed updating.

How to play Tank Stars
- Treat your first shot as a measurement and correct precisely from it.
- Choose a high-arc weapon when terrain is between you and a flat one when it is not.
- Watch the terrain deform; your cover changes during the duel.
- Aim slightly long rather than short, since terrain absorbs shortfalls.
- Save area weapons for when the opponent is against a slope.
Tips
- The physics are deterministic, so the second shot should never be a guess.
- Terrain deformation changes the duel as it goes, including your own cover.
- Weapon arc matters more than weapon damage when anything is in the way.
