Tunnel Ball

A tunnel runner where the tunnel itself rotates as you travel through it. The obstacles are fixed to the tunnel wall rather than moving independently, so what looks like an obstacle sweeping toward you is actually the whole world turning — and reading that correctly is the thing the game is testing. That distinction matters because it changes the correct response. A moving obstacle wants you to dodge; a rotating world wants you to move with the rotation and arrive where the gap will be, which is a continuous adjustment rather than a reaction. Players who treat the two the same way find the game arbitrary, and players who notice the difference find it tractable. Rotation speed and direction both change, sometimes mid-section, which prevents a rhythm from carrying you. Runs last under a minute and restarting is a press. The presentation is minimal with obstacles clearly distinct from the tunnel surface, which is the only requirement at these speeds. It plays with two inputs on a phone or keyboard and needs a moderately capable machine for smooth rotation. There is nothing else in it — no unlocks, no modes, no progression beyond the distance number — which makes it a thirty-second game to open between other things, and it suits that use exactly.
