Wheelie Party

An endless wheelie game whose scoring creates the tension. A multiplier builds continuously while the front wheel stays off the ground and resets to nothing the instant it touches down — so the decision throughout a run is whether to protect a large multiplier by playing safe or to push the angle for a faster climb. That single rule does a lot of work. Early in a run, dropping the wheel costs almost nothing and recovering is free; two minutes in, with a large multiplier, the same mistake undoes everything — which means the game gets psychologically harder even though the mechanics do not change at all. Experienced players deliberately lower the angle through difficult sections to protect a run, which is the opposite of what the scoring seems to encourage. The presentation is casual and bright, the road is varied enough to keep disturbing the balance, and unlocked bikes give earnings somewhere to go. Runs last a couple of minutes and restarting is a press. It plays with two inputs on a phone or keyboard and runs on very modest hardware. Of the several games built on this one trick, this is the one for anybody who likes a score chase with a decision in it rather than a pure balance exercise.
