The sequel to a driving puzzle that was never really about driving. Acceleration pitches the vehicle backwards and braking pitches it forwards, so the pedals are attitude controls and each course is a short sequence of moments where the vehicle's angle has to be exactly right — which makes it a puzzle with a throttle rather than a racing game. What the sequel adds is variety in the vehicles and nastiness in the courses. Different trucks shift weight differently, so a technique that cleared one level has to be adjusted for the next, and the obstacle set now includes things that punish the approach rather than the landing. Gold times give cleared levels somewhere to go, and the instant restart keeps the failure loop painless. It is a harder game than the first and fair in exactly the same way.

How to play Drive Mad 2

  1. Watch the nose of the vehicle rather than the road; its angle decides everything.
  2. Lift off before a crest, not after, so you do not launch into a bad landing.
  3. Brake in mid-air to rotate forward — it is the standard fix for a back-heavy jump.
  4. Approach see-saws slowly and let them settle rather than carrying speed across.
  5. Restart the instant a run is compromised; the courses are short by design.

Tips

  • Each level has one moment that matters and a lot of filler around it; find the moment.
  • Gold times usually need one bold shortcut rather than being faster throughout.
  • If the truck keeps flipping backwards, you are holding the throttle through the ramp.
