A tag game whose entire identity is its movement. There is no walk button: you move by pushing off surfaces and swinging, building momentum that carries you across the map — and the gap between a player who has learned that and one who has not is enormous, which is what makes the chases interesting. The modes are simple by design. Classic tag has one chaser, infection turns the tagged into chasers until nobody is left, and both live entirely on the movement skill because there is nothing else to master. That makes it unusually pure for a multiplayer game: no loadouts, no progression, no advantage except how well you move. Maps are built with surfaces at useful angles rather than as level geometry, and learning a map means learning which surfaces chain together. The absence of progression is worth emphasising. Nothing unlocks and no advantage can be earned, so somebody who arrived today competes with somebody who has played for months purely on how well they move — which is rare, refreshing, and the reason the skill ceiling stays interesting rather than being bought.

How to play Gorilla Tag
- Build momentum before you need it; accelerating while being chased is too late.
- Chain pushes off surfaces rather than stopping between them.
- Learn which surfaces connect on each map — routes matter more than speed.
- As chaser, cut across rather than following; a swinging player outruns a direct pursuit.
- Practise the movement in a quiet room before joining a busy one.
Tips
- Momentum is everything, so any move that stops you is a mistake regardless of where it puts you.
- In infection mode the early chasers are slow; that is when to build distance.
- Corners are where momentum dies, so plan routes that avoid needing to turn sharply.
