Mall Dash

Two games sharing one vehicle. Most of the time you are driving a radio-controlled car around a shopping mall at a speed the environment was not designed for, sliding around pillars and through crowds; and then a security camera starts sweeping and the whole thing becomes a stealth game where the correct move is to stop completely and wait. The switch between those modes is what makes it interesting, because the skills oppose each other. Racing rewards carrying momentum and stealth punishes it, so the transition is always slightly wrong-footing — and the levels know it, putting camera sweeps immediately after the sections that most encourage speed. Getting caught costs the attempt rather than a life, which keeps the stealth sections genuinely tense. The mall itself is a good setting for both halves: cluttered enough to make the driving technical, and full of sightlines and cover that make the hiding meaningful. Levels are short, restarts immediate, and the difficulty rises by interleaving the two modes faster rather than by making either one harder alone. A clean idea, cleanly built.
