Murder

A stealth game with a clean two-act structure. First you have to kill the king, which means getting close enough in a room full of people who will react if they see a weapon. Then, having taken the throne, you have to keep it — and now the court is full of people planning exactly what you just did. The second act is what makes it memorable. The tools you used become the tools used on you, and the paranoia is earned rather than atmospheric: anyone approaching might be a courtier or an assassin, and the only way to tell is behaviour. Acting too early kills an innocent and costs you standing; acting too late costs the game. That decision, repeated under increasing pressure, is the whole design. It is short, pixel-art, and tight. A run takes a few minutes and ends decisively either way. The stealth is about positioning and timing rather than systems — there is no vision-cone mini-game to learn, just a room, a crowd, and the question of whether now is the moment. It plays with a mouse or a touchscreen equally well and asks nothing of the hardware.
