A racing game with the opposition removed. There is no field to overtake and no rubber-banding rival that catches up when you make a mistake; there is a stopwatch, a clean surface and a translucent ghost of your own best attempt. That reduction is the appeal. Every hundredth you lose has a cause you can see, and the ghost shows you exactly which corner you have been getting wrong all afternoon.

How to play PolyTrack
- Drive a slow lap first to learn where the track goes. Time attack rewards knowledge far more than bravery.
- Brake in a straight line before the corner, not during it. The car rotates predictably only when it is not fighting two inputs at once.
- Watch the ghost rather than the clock. Seeing where it pulls away tells you which corner to fix.
- Restart the moment a lap is spoiled. There is no reason to finish a run you already know is slow.
- Take the editor seriously once the built-in tracks feel comfortable. Building a corner teaches you how to drive one.
Tips
- Smoothness beats aggression on every layout here. The fastest lines look slow from the outside.
- Landing matters as much as launching. A jump taken flat costs less time than a spectacular one that lands sideways.
- Set a modest target and beat it repeatedly. Chasing the global board on the first evening only teaches frustration.
- Learn one track properly before touching the rest. The habits that shave a second here transfer to every other layout in the game.
Questions about PolyTrack
Are there opponents to race?
Only your own ghost. The game is built entirely around the clock.
Can I make my own tracks?
Yes, there is a full editor, and community-built circuits are much of what people play.
Does it run on a weak machine?
The low-poly art keeps it light, which is one of the reasons it exists in this form.
What is the ghost exactly?
A transparent replay of your best lap driving alongside you, so you can see where the time went.
Is there any damage model?
No. Hitting a barrier costs you time and nothing else, so a spoiled lap is a restart rather than a repair.
