A turn-based duel built from a single timing input. Each turn you get one strike, the power is set by stopping a moving meter, and then your opponent does the same — so there is no movement, no defence and no complexity beyond hitting the right point on a bar under pressure. What makes it more than a meter-stopping exercise is the physics on the receiving end. A well-timed strike sends the opponent into a ragdoll flail whose severity scales with how accurate you were, and the damage follows the physics rather than a number, which means a perfect hit can end a duel outright. The meter also speeds up as a duel progresses, so the later turns are genuinely harder than the early ones. Duels last under a minute, there is a ladder of opponents with faster meters and more tolerance for damage, and the comedy of the animations is a substantial part of the appeal. It plays with one input on a phone or a keyboard, runs on anything, and is completely understood within one turn. A small game that is exactly as deep as it needs to be.

How to play Slap Champions

  1. Aim for the centre of the target zone rather than its edge.
  2. Press slightly early as the meter speeds up; the window moves toward you.
  3. Watch the meter rather than the characters.
  4. Expect the later turns to be faster and adjust before they arrive.
  5. Restart immediately; duels are under a minute.

Tips

  • The meter accelerates through a duel, so early timing becomes late timing.
  • Accuracy scales the damage continuously; there is no flat hit value.
  • A perfect strike can end a duel, which keeps every turn live.
