A territory game in a space-station setting, built on the one tension that makes the format work: growth requires leaving safety. Inside your own colour nothing can touch you; outside it you trail a line, and if any rival crosses that line before you close the loop, the round ends there. The arena is shared with other players, so the map is constantly being redrawn by people whose plans you cannot see. What makes it more than a colouring exercise is that risk scales with success. The larger your area, the further you have to travel to get back inside it, which means every player who is doing well is also a player who is spending longer exposed. Cutting somebody else's trail is both defence and offence, and the scoreboard rewards the players who pick those moments rather than the ones who sweep the most ground.

How to play Amogus.io
- Take small loops first. Area compounds, so several safe claims beat one ambitious sweep.
- Head back inside your colour before you think you need to — the trail is the only thing that kills you.
- Check who is nearby before leaving safety, because a rival near your border is a rival near your trail.
- Cut players who are far from home; it is the cheapest elimination and it opens their ground.
- Expand along your own border rather than across the arena.
Tips
- A smooth border is far easier to defend than one with long thin arms sticking out of it.
- If somebody is chasing you, run into your own territory rather than trying to outpace them.
- The leader is usually the most exposed player on the map, which is worth remembering when choosing a target.
