A defence game whose whole difficulty lives in one recurring decision: the gold in front of you can buy troops that fight this wave or repairs and upgrades that matter for the next five. Spend everything on the present and the wall crumbles slowly; spend everything on the future and there is nothing holding the line while you build it. Waves arrive with different compositions — fast and numerous, slow and heavy, ranged — and a defence tuned for one is usually poor against the next. Heroes sit on top of the troop economy and provide the flexibility that raw numbers cannot.

How to play Fortress Clash
- Read the incoming wave before spending. The composition determines whether numbers or armour is the answer.
- Keep the wall repaired between waves rather than after damage becomes critical.
- Spread your spending. A defence with no cheap troops collapses to swarms, and one with only cheap troops collapses to heavies.
- Save hero abilities for the moment the line actually breaks rather than opening with them.
- Start waves early when you are comfortable. The bonus compounds and the difficulty does not jump.
Tips
- Ranged attackers behind the wall are worth more than melee in front of it, because the wall does the tanking.
- An upgrade bought two waves early is worth roughly double the same upgrade bought late.
- If a wave keeps breaking through, change the composition rather than buying more of what already failed.
Questions about Fortress Clash
What am I defending?
A fortress wall against successive waves of enemies with different strengths.
What are heroes for?
They provide abilities and flexibility that ordinary troops cannot, particularly when a line is about to break.
Is it real time?
Yes, though the decisions between waves are what actually determine the outcome.
Does it get harder?
Steadily, and the composition changes as well as the numbers.
Does it play on a phone?
Yes, everything is tap-based.
Can I lose a run permanently?
A broken wall ends the attempt, though upgrades bought along the way carry into the next one, so a failed defence is still progress.
