A tower defence where the units are not static. Placing a defender starts it on a growth track, and it evolves as it accumulates experience from the waves it fights — which reverses the usual economy of the genre. Here the cheap unit placed on wave one can be stronger by wave twenty than an expensive one bought later. That changes where the decisions are. Instead of saving for the best tower, you are choosing which positions are worth investing thirty waves of growth into, and a unit placed somewhere that sees little traffic is wasted regardless of what it cost. Routes are long, which gives the evolution time to matter, and the maps are built so that a few positions see far more action than the rest — finding those is the actual skill. Progress also carries between runs, so a failed attempt leaves you better equipped for the next one, which makes the difficulty curve forgiving without removing the challenge. Sessions are long for a browser game — a full route can take half an hour — and there is no time pressure within a wave. It plays with a mouse or taps and needs nothing from the hardware.

How to play Pokepath TD
- Place your first units where the route doubles back; they will see the most action.
- Invest in positions rather than in units — growth goes to whoever is standing there.
- Resist buying late replacements; an evolved early unit usually beats them.
- Check a unit's evolution requirements before committing a position to it.
- Let a failed run end; progress carries and the next attempt starts stronger.
Tips
- A cheap unit placed early outgrows an expensive one bought late, which inverts the usual strategy.
- Positions where the path loops are worth several times the others.
- Progress between runs means losing is productive rather than wasted.
