Ragdoll Archers

An archery duel where the arrow is a projectile with real drop and the target is a ragdoll with real limbs. Both of those matter: the shot has to be arced across the gap rather than aimed straight at the opponent, and where it lands changes the outcome completely — a head shot finishes a round, a limb hit mostly just annoys. That combination produces a good two-player game. Drawing the bow takes time during which you are exposed, so the decision is always between a quick inaccurate shot and a slow precise one, and against a person that becomes a contest of nerve. Terrain between the archers blocks some arcs and not others, so position is worth as much as aim, and moving to change the angle is frequently better than trying to shoot through cover. Rounds last seconds, which keeps the swings constant, and the ragdoll physics mean a finished round always looks slightly ridiculous. Against the computer it is a decent aiming drill; against another person on the same keyboard it is considerably better. It plays on touch and desktop alike and runs on anything.
