A game jam entry built around one absurd problem: a bomb is burning and the only tool available is a man's breath. Holding builds air, releasing blows it out, and the fuse does not pause while you decide. The whole thing is a single timing window that moves depending on how far away the bomb is and how much breath you have banked. The reason it works is that both halves of the decision cost something. Hold too long and the fuse wins; release too early and the puff does not reach. Because the game is short and the restart is immediate, you end up learning the window through about fifteen rapid failures and then clearing it, which is exactly the arc a jam game should have. It is small, silly and finished, and it does not outstay the joke.

How to play Blowout

  1. Watch the fuse, not the character. It is the only clock in the game.
  2. Hold longer for distance and shorter for a bomb that is close — the reach scales with the hold.
  3. Release before you think you should; the puff takes time to travel.
  4. Restart immediately rather than watching the explosion.
  5. Accept the first several failures as calibration; the window is learnable in under a minute.

Tips

  • A full hold is rarely correct unless the bomb is at maximum distance.
  • The fuse burns at a constant rate, so the decision is always about distance rather than urgency.
  • It is a jam game — expect it to be over quickly and enjoy that it is.
