The premise is a joke and the shooting is not. You play an egg with a gun in a three-dimensional arena, and the comedy of that sits on top of a genuinely quick and competitive shooter. The important consequence of being an egg is fragility: there is very little health to work with, so a single well-placed shot ends you and standing still for a second is the same as volunteering. Several modes share the arenas, from a plain free-for-all to team games and a chaotic objective mode, and each class carries a distinct weapon that changes the range you want to fight at rather than simply hitting harder.

How to play Shell Shockers
- Pick a class and learn its range. A shotgun class trying to win at distance loses to a rifle every time.
- Keep moving between shots. Health is thin enough that being predictable for one second is fatal.
- Use the vertical space. Arenas have height and most players ignore it, which makes it free advantage.
- Reload after every engagement rather than during the next one.
- In team modes, fight where your team is. A skilled player alone is a skilled player who dies alone.

- Headshots matter disproportionately given how little health there is, so aim high by default.
- Sound is a reliable early warning in these arenas. Play with audio on.
- If you keep losing duels you started, you are opening at the wrong range for your weapon rather than aiming badly.
