Smash Room

A destruction sandbox with a deliberately small scope: one furnished room, a selection of tools, and nothing else. There is no objective, no score and no progression, and the honest description is that it gives you about four minutes of satisfying physics and then you close the tab — which is exactly what it was built for. What makes those four minutes worthwhile is the material behaviour. Glass shatters differently from wood, shelves transfer force to what they are holding, and the tools differ enough that the same object is more fun to destroy with one than another. Finding the object that collapses half the room is a small discovery, and the room is arranged to make a few of those available. Because the scope is small, nothing about it overstays. Sessions are two to five minutes, there is nothing to save, and it does not try to make you come back. It needs a moderately capable machine when the room is mid-collapse, plays with a mouse and a couple of keys, and runs in the browser without a download. A small honest thing rather than a game.
