A team brawler with a very large roster and a very simple underlying rule: each character is designed for one distance, and fighting outside it loses. The arenas are small and full of walls, so most of the skill is positional — moving through cover to reach the range you need while denying your opponents theirs. Modes are where it gets interesting, because they change what the map is for. A straight elimination rewards the characters who win duels; an objective mode rewards the ones who control space, and a brawler that looked overwhelming in one is often a liability in the other. Matches are short, teams are three a side, and the reason this format has been copied so widely is that it produces readable, decisive fights in under three minutes.

How to play Brawl Stars

  1. Pick for the mode rather than for the character you like most.
  2. Move through cover to reach your range; crossing open ground at the wrong distance is how brawlers die.
  3. Charge the super with ordinary attacks and spend it on space rather than on a kill.
  4. Stay with your team. A strong brawler alone loses to two weaker ones.
  5. Learn two characters at different ranges so you can answer a bad matchup.

Tips

  • Walls block most attacks, so the map is effectively your armour.
  • In objective modes, the player holding the point matters more than the player with the most eliminations.
  • If you keep losing duels, you are probably fighting at somebody else's range rather than your own.
