The game that took the growth-arena format and gave it a build tree. You start as a plain tank, shoot geometric shapes to level up, and spend those levels on statistics and on a class upgrade — and the class choices branch, so by the late game the arena contains tanks that play completely differently from each other rather than the same tank at different sizes. That is what gives it depth the simpler arena games lack. A sniper build, a swarm build and a close-range build all beat something and lose to something, so the map becomes a set of matchups rather than a size ladder, and knowing which tanks to avoid is as important as knowing how to aim. Levelling takes a few minutes, deaths cost everything, and the tension of being a high-level build with no way to bank your progress is the whole late game.

How to play Diep IO
- Farm shapes before engaging anyone; levels are cheap from shapes and expensive from fights.
- Pick a class direction early and commit your statistics to it rather than spreading them.
- Learn which builds beat yours and disengage from them rather than trading.
- Fight near your own side of the map so retreating is possible.
- Watch the leaderboard; the top tank is a tank to avoid until you know its build.
Tips
- Reload and bullet damage matter more than speed in most builds, which is counter-intuitive early.
- A high-level tank that dies loses everything, so caution scales with your own progress.
- Shapes near the centre are worth more and are guarded by better players for that reason.

No, which is what makes the late game tense.

No, it runs in the browser.

No — build matchups decide fights more than level does.
