A hill climbing game where the opponent is the ground. Slopes have to be attacked with the right amount of speed — too little and the vehicle stalls and rolls back, too much and it leaves the surface at the crest and lands badly. Fuel and distance both push you forward while the physics push you to be careful, and the tension between those is the whole game. Coins earned by distance buy vehicles and upgrades, and each new vehicle changes the calculation rather than removing it: more power makes a climb possible and also makes it easier to launch yourself off the top of it. Progression is measured in distance rather than in wins, which keeps the pressure gentle. A run that ends halfway up a slope still earns something towards the next vehicle, and the vehicles differ enough that a stretch of terrain which defeated one is often trivial for another. The result is a game that rarely feels like it is punishing you, even while it is refusing to let you past a hill.

How to play Hill Sprint

  1. Build speed on the flat before a climb rather than on the climb itself.
  2. Lift off at the crest so the vehicle stays on the ground where it can still steer.
  3. Use the brake to shift weight forward when the nose lifts too far.
  4. Take fuel that is on your line and never brake hard to reach it.
  5. Upgrade grip and suspension before raw power, since both make the same climb repeatable.

Tips

  • Rolling backwards is usually recoverable if you brake early rather than trying to power out of it.
  • The steepest climbs want a slow, steady approach rather than a run-up, which is counter-intuitive and correct.
  • New vehicles need their own learning, so expect a worse distance on the first few runs with one.

Questions about Hill Sprint

Am I racing anyone?

No, the challenge is the terrain and the distance.

What ends a run?

Running out of fuel, or crashing the vehicle.

What do upgrades change?

Power, grip, suspension and fuel capacity, all of which extend how far a run can go.

Are new vehicles simply better?

Not always. More power makes some hills easier and landings harder.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, two pedals map cleanly to touch.

Does it need installing?

No, it runs in the browser.
