Veck.io

New
Low-poly shooter with a player sliding round a corner in a tight arena

A shooter that punishes standing still harder than it punishes missing. Maps are close and the time to kill is short, so the exchange usually goes to whoever entered it moving. The slide is the mechanic everything else is built around: it carries you round a corner faster than a walk, lowers your profile while it happens, and separates the players who look impossible to hit from the ones who do not.

How to play Veck.io

  1. Slide into every corner instead of walking round it. You arrive faster and lower, and both cost the defender time.
  2. Chain the slide into a jump when crossing open ground. The combined movement is much harder to track than either alone.
  3. Fight at the range your current weapon wants. In gun game especially, a weapon you dislike is a reason to change distance, not to keep missing.
  4. Take the fight to fresh spawns when you are ahead. Waiting in a corner surrenders the tempo the whole design rewards.
  5. Cancel a slide early when you need to shoot. The mechanic is for arriving, not for aiming.

Tips

  • New players walk and wonder why they lose. Half the skill gap here is one key.
  • Short bursts beat held triggers at these ranges. Recoil climbs faster than the target moves.
  • In gun game, the awkward weapons decide the match. Practise the ones you dread rather than the ones you enjoy.
  • Weapon pickups are placed where the map wants a fight, so learning where they sit is the same as learning where people will be standing.

Questions about Veck.io

What makes the slide so important?

It is the fastest way to change position and it lowers your silhouette while you do it. Every fight in a map this tight is decided by who moved better.

What modes are there?

Team play and a gun game rotation where every kill hands you the next weapon in a fixed order.

Is it playable on a laptop trackpad?

Technically yes, practically no. The pace assumes a mouse.

Does it need installing?

No. It runs in the browser tab like everything else here.

Why does the time to kill feel so short?

Because the maps are small and the guns are strong. The design assumes constant respawning rather than careful survival, which is what keeps rounds moving.
