A small action game with a surprisingly serious progression system underneath it. Each run sends a stick figure down through waves of enemies, and the fighting itself is simple enough to follow at a glance. What matters is what you carry out: equipment upgrades are permanent, so a run that ends badly still moves the account forward. Species traits are chosen before the run and they matter more than they look. They shift how you have to play rather than adding a flat bonus, and because the inventory is shared across runs, the sensible approach is to build towards a specific combination over several attempts rather than hoping one perfect run does everything.

How to play Stick Hero RPG

  1. Choose the species before thinking about gear. The trait shapes what equipment is worth carrying.
  2. Bank upgrades between runs rather than saving. Progress is permanent, so anything spent is kept.
  3. Fight at the range your build wants. Most failed runs are a melee build trying to trade at distance or the reverse.
  4. Clear floors rather than rushing them. Loot density is what funds the next attempt.
  5. Retire a run deliberately when the gear you wanted has dropped. Dying with it is the same as leaving with it, but leaving is faster.

Tips

  • Two matching pieces of gear usually beat one good piece and one great one, because set effects compound.
  • Do not chase the deepest floor early. The economy rewards repeated shallow runs until the build exists.
  • If runs keep ending at the same floor, the answer is a different species rather than more of the same gear.

Questions about Stick Hero RPG

Do I lose progress when a run ends?

No. Equipment upgrades are permanent, which is what makes short failed runs worthwhile.

What do species traits change?

How your character fights rather than how hard it hits, so they effectively define the build.

Is the inventory shared?

Yes, across runs, which is why building towards a combination works.

Is it a long game?

It is built around many short runs rather than one long session.

Does it need a keyboard?

It plays on touch as well, though the combat is easier with keys.
