Throwing knives at a target that will not hold still. Each blade rotates in flight and the target rotates as well, sometimes at a changing speed, so hitting it is a matter of finding the moment when both are lined up. Missing means the knife bounces away and the attempt is over, which makes the game a series of small commitments rather than a continuous action. The presentation does a lot of the work — the blades are well modelled, the light shifts as the environments change, and the sound of a knife landing in wood is the reason people keep throwing another one.

How to play Knife Master

  1. Throw on the rhythm of the target rather than when it looks right. Rotation speed is consistent within a stage.
  2. Watch the gaps between the knives already stuck in the target. That gap is your actual window.
  3. Throw earlier than instinct suggests, because the blade takes time to reach the target.
  4. Slow down when the rotation changes direction. The reversal is where most attempts end.
  5. Restart rather than forcing a bad throw. Attempts are short and there is no partial credit.

Tips

  • The window narrows with each knife you land, so the early throws should be placed to leave room rather than anywhere convenient.
  • Different weapons have different flight times, so re-learn the timing whenever you switch.
  • If the target speeds up and slows down, count the pattern rather than reacting to it.
