A stealth puzzle where sound is the mechanic rather than sight. The house has floorboards that creak, doors that squeak and objects that clatter, and the people you are avoiding respond to what they hear — so movement is a series of decisions about which noises you can afford and when. That makes it a planning game. Each room has a map of quiet and loud surfaces, and the route out is the one that strings the quiet ones together, which is frequently longer and always slower than the direct path. Timing matters because the listeners move: a creak that goes unnoticed while someone is in the kitchen is fatal when they are in the hall, so the same step is safe or not depending on where everybody is. Levels are short enough that the first attempt can be spent learning the house, restarts are instant, and nothing in it is frightening — the tone is comic rather than horror. Difficulty rises by adding listeners and removing quiet routes. It plays with three inputs on a keyboard or touchscreen, runs on anything, and is entirely suitable for children.

How to play Schoolboy Escape 2

  1. Map the quiet surfaces before moving; the route follows them.
  2. Move slowly by default and quickly only when nobody can hear.
  3. Time noisy steps for when a listener is in another room.
  4. Open doors slowly, which takes longer and makes no sound.
  5. Restart freely — the first attempt is for learning the house.

Tips

  • The direct route is almost always the loud one.
  • The same step is safe or fatal depending on where the listeners are.
  • Moving slowly costs time and nothing else, which makes it the default.
