A scavenging game where the tension comes from greed rather than from combat. You enter a derelict facility to recover valuable objects, those objects are heavy and fragile, and the facility contains things that will kill you — so the whole game is the question of whether to carry what you have to the exit or go back for one more. The fragility is the clever part. Valuables break if dropped or knocked, which means you cannot simply run with an armful when something appears; carrying properly is slow and vulnerable, and abandoning a load to escape costs you the reason you came. That turns every encounter into an economic decision rather than a fight, and it is considerably more stressful than a shooting mechanic would be. Facilities are laid out differently each run, so route knowledge does not carry, and the threats patrol rather than ambush — meaning listening is the main survival skill. Runs are ten to fifteen minutes, progress between them funds better equipment, and a greedy run that ends empty-handed is the game working as designed. It needs a keyboard, mouse and headphones, and a moderately capable machine.

How to play REPO

  1. Carry fewer valuables than you can, and get them out.
  2. Move slowly with a load; running risks breaking everything you are holding.
  3. Learn the threats by sound — they patrol rather than ambush.
  4. Plan the route to the exit before picking anything up.
  5. Leave when your hands are full rather than scouting with them.

Tips

  • The decision to go back for one more is how almost every run ends.
  • Broken valuables pay nothing, so a slow extraction beats a fast one.
  • Headphones are not optional; sound is the only early warning.
